Hand-woven wall hanging. Thai silk warp. Silk, cotton and viscose weft. Decorative bamboo inserts and teakwood rods.
The motif for this wall hanging is a detail found in the textiles of the Tai Lue people of north-east Thailand and Laos.
Inspiration for the wall hangings derives from a textile called ‘Pha tung’; a long banner traditionally woven with religious motifs and bamboo inserts. Suspended from poles in the temple grounds on religious occasions.
