This limited edition wall hanging is woven on a cotton warp. The weft is composed of a blend of cotton, hemp, silk and viscose yarns, which adds texture and lustre to the textile.
The pattern of this wall hanging was inspired by and adapted from the border of a vintage Laotian sarong. Mottled, ikat-like details found in traditional Karen textiles have been added, binding together the composition. Hand-whittled bamboo canes are inserted into the warp during the weaving process, providing structure and balance to the hanging. Each wall hanging also includes two polished teakwood rods.
Sop Moei Arts wall hangings are inspired by the Thai "Pha tung" which are woven banners that often hang in temple grounds on religious or festive occasions. Our wall hangings are a contemporary interpretation of this art form and designed for modern interiors. A truly stunning woven art piece to hang in your home, office or give as a unique gift.
